Since our founding in 1977 Jerusalem has been responding to a call of God to build a lay community to strengthen families and single people in living Christian life and in the important work of Christian mission. Today we are around 50 adults and just as many youth and children.
Whilst our history has seen us spread all over Belgium, these days most of our activities and people are living and working around Brussels and Leuven. Typically when we get together as a community we speak English, French and Flemish, a reflection of our people and mission.
We enjoy the official recognition of the Catholic archdiocese of Mechelen-Brussels. Our members faithfully participate in their local churches, and at the same time are committed to working towards unity with all Christians in our membership and mission.
God made us to live life in relationship with others and in our experience when we step into that purpose more fully we start to experience deep Christian friendship and support, we are strengthened in our Christian walk and personal growth and empowered with gifts and opportunities to bring the ever relevant message of his good news to those around us.
