Friday, February 8, 2019, 11 am, the plane takes off for Glasgow. Accompanied by Agathe, I leave Belgium for the Kairos weekend "Faith". After many hours of public transport, we finally arrived in a beautiful Scottish domain.
During a sharing in my small group, I was able to define what were my expectations for this weekend. I asked the Lord of Peace in many areas of my life, answers to some of my questions and spiritual food to rekindle the flame of my faith.
We were fortunate to hear poignant testimonials, salient teachings, to have powerful prayer and prayer times, fruitful discussions and reflections, and blessed encounters. I give thanks for all those brothers and sisters in Christ with whom I share the same DNA because they have been a source of great inspiration to me.
The Lord responded to my request in a rather special way. I realized that the plan I had for my life was not the one He had for me. I did not want Him to change my desires for my future. I did not want to leave my comfort zone. I had my desires and I did not fully give them to Him out of fear of letting go. So I received this strength to follow His call by making the decision not to embark on a personal artistic career but to put my voice and my art entirely at the service of a larger plan, a bigger project. His project. I decided that, whatever He expected from me, I was ready to give it to him, even if it would scare me or not coincide with my expectations. I understood that His plan is always bigger than my expectations, even if on the human scale it can be completely incomprehensible. The Lord showed me how much He had not forgotten me, how much He loves me and how precious I am to Him. And I know in the bottom of my heart that He is faithful. He does great things. This retreat has been proof of this. I've grown and I am nourished and soothed. I was reassured in the areas where I needed it. I felt protected, tight in the arms of our heavenly father.
This weekend was for me source of great joy, sweetness and friendship. I felt privileged to be part of this beautiful missionary community in action around the world. My faith was reboosted and I was blessed abundantly.
