29th of august 2018, the end of a beautiful summer… Schools will soon restart. What a joy to be able to gather now with our sisters of Jerusalem, around mama Priscilla and the little baby in her womb! What a joy to see each other again. Priscilla's mother, one of her sisters in law and two friends also joined in, what a blessing! Adriana is hosting us in her very cosy house, it's going to be a great evening!
As usual we start with a little game to get in the mood of the evening. We all get to pick a letter from a box that can inspire us to make a wish, to say a prayer or a word of encouragement for Priscilla. She is overloaded with encouragements and with beautiful dreams for her little baby.
After a time of prayer and worship, we listen to the honest and wise words of Veronica, who inspires us and also challenges us to remain faithful to our daily prayer, especially as young mothers in the midst of the busyness and of the many needs our families have.
Coming to the Lord every day, listening to Him, talking to Him, so our life can flow from Him and be fed through Him. Veronica also testifies of the power of praying in tongues: the Lord can do great things when we allow the Holy Spirit to pray in us, through us en for us.
Before we get to the 'core business' of the evening, praying over Priscilla and her baby, she tells us about how she has experienced her pregnancy and which things she'd like prayer for. Maarten and Priscilla are soon moving to their new house in Wilsele, not an easy task with the baby coming soon and little Emma to take care of! Her personal testimony touches us very deeply and the prayer she prays for her children is one that we can all pray for our kids and loved ones:
I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit[a] of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has calledyou, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the deadand seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms,
Ephesians 1:17-20
We end our evening with a nice chat and a buffet full of delicious things.
It was a rich evening in which the Lord was generous with his Words and his encouragment. Thank you Father!
